Who do you know who would be a good board member?
ASI's Nominating Committee invites your participation and assistance. ASI needs your energy, experience, creativity, and commitment to ensure the continued dynamic growth of this unique organization of information professionals. In return, by serving ASI you will gain a more nuanced and in-depth understanding of ASI—what it does, how it works, and what goes into creating the range of benefits and opportunities that ASI offers its members.
There are four offices for which we are soliciting candidates:
- President-elect
- Two Directors
- Secretary
The president-elect attends all board meetings, serves as President the following year (2024-2025), and then as immediate past president chairs the Nominating Committee, a three-year commitment in all. The other positions are also three-year terms. Responsibilities of all offices include participating in quarterly board meetings, acting as liaison between the board and their assigned ASI committee(s), and contributing to other organizational issues and projects of interest. If serving ASI in one of these roles sounds appealing to you, or if you know of someone else whose abilities and experience might enable them to contribute in a meaningful way to the organization, please contact me or one of the other committee members. Deadline for receiving suggestions for consideration by the nominating committee is Friday, January 20, 2023.
