I hold a PhD in film and media history from Northwestern University and work as an independent indexer, researcher, and educator in Los Angeles. My practice is informed by:
(1) formal training through ASI
(2) examination of hundreds of indexes over the course of a 20-year scholarly career
(3) observations about how novice readers approach indexes while mentoring students research projects.
I am actively engaged in educating myself about anti-racist and anti-transphobic indexing practices, and invite dialogue on this subject with authors and fellow indexers.
Visit bethcorzoduchardt.com/ for a list of recent projects and more information about the range of services I provide, including archival research, copyright licensing, and editing.
