Spread Your Indexing Wings
June 5–6, 2024
Bryn Mawr College. Philadelphia
We are excited to hold the 2024 ASI Conference “Spread Your Indexing Wings,” June 5–6, 2024, on the campus of Bryn Mawr College located on the outskirts of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Ours will be the sole group in the collegial environment of the beautiful Bryn Mawr campus. With its stately architecture and verdant landscape, Bryn Mawr presents the perfect atmosphere for learning about your craft, networking with other indexers, and relaxing in the evenings with the people who “get” you. The venue enables ASI to offer an especially affordable registration rate, making “Spread Your Indexing Wings” a wise investment.
Optional preconference courses on June 4 provide more in-depth educational opportunities throughout the day. That evening the Welcome Reception starts at 6 p.m. in the picturesque Great Hall.
A short train ride into downtown Philadelphia takes you to highly rated restaurants and historic attractions, or enjoy the broad variety of cuisines offered at restaurants in downtown Bryn Mawr.
Plan to be there for ASI’s first in-person conference since 2019. We are moving to a biennial schedule for our in-person gatherings, so your next opportunity to meet will not be until 2026.

Pre-conference workshops are optional and priced separately.
Residence Hall
Your stay in the residence hall is included in your conference registration rate, providing a uniquely economical experience. Participants will have an air-conditioned private room with a twin extra-long bed. Linens and towels are provided. Common bathrooms house individual stalls and private showers. Free Wi-Fi is included.
Comfortable living rooms in the common areas provide the perfect environment to visit with indexer friends. Feel free to enjoy a glass of your favorite wine as you relax. The musically inclined will delight in the grand piano.
On each floor, you’ll find a basic kitchen with a refrigerator and microwave.
Downstairs there is additional seating, plus a laundry room (free to use if you need to run a quick load). Vending machine snacks will take care of late-night munchies.
Smoking is prohibited in all College buildings at all times.
Dining
Breakfast and lunch in the dining hall on Wednesday and Thursday are included in your registration. Enjoy all you can eat with multiple entrée options, as well as salad and deli stations at lunch.
Enjoy wine and hors d'oeuvres at the Welcome Reception on Tuesday, in the Great Hall in Old Library, included in your registration.
Dinners are not included, but there are plenty of convenient dining options available. Choose from a broad variety of cuisines offered at restaurants in downtown Bryn Mawr, a short walk from campus. A quick train ride into downtown Philadelphia takes you to foodie-favorite restaurants. We encourage you to make plans to dine with indexer friends or join a group outing. Optionally, you may purchase dinner in the dining hall or order from a meal delivery service.
Getting There
Philadelphia is easy to reach by most major airlines, and a train ride on SEPTA carries you into the city. Choose one of the major stops, such as 30th Street Station, then transfer to the regional line to Bryn Mawr. If you prefer train travel, Amtrak provides service into the city, then switch to SEPTA for the short trip to Bryn Mawr.
