Organizations

Open to all organizations, corporate and non-profit, committed to furthering ASI's goal of advocating, educating, and providing the central resource for indexing.

The following benefits are offered to the organization:

  • Listing on Organizational Members page of ASI website (logo, description, and link)
  • Listing in the Individual Member directory for one contact individual
  • Subscription to Key Words: The Bulletin of the American Society for Indexing (PDF may be distributed to an unlimited number of employees within your organization)
  • Discounted subscription rate for The Indexer: The International Journal of Indexing (PDF may be distributed to an unlimited number of employees within your organization)
  • Discounted rate for advertising in Key Words
  • Eligibility to list the organization as an indexing service in the Indexer Locator directory (additional fee)
  • Recognition at the annual conference
  • ASI website restricted members area login (may be shared among employees of the organization), which provides access to the following:
    • Individual membership directory database
    • Chapter and SIG membership directories
    • ASI documents and reports, including: the salary survey, newsletters from affiliated indexing societies in other countries, and back issues of the Key Words bulletin

The following benefits of individual membership are extended to all interested individual employees of the organizational member:

  • Discounted member attendance rates at the annual conference (for an unlimited number of employees at any given conference)
  • Discounted member rates for ASI webinars and online learning courses
  • Discounted member rates for ASI publications
  • Eligibility to enroll in the ASI Training Course
  • Eligibility to join and serve as officers of ASI Special Interest Groups and local ASI chapters, and as members of national ASI committees
  • Eligibility to subscribe to ASindexing, the ASI discussion list

As with individual members, membership in one chapter is at no charge but joining additional chapters is subject to a $14 per chapter fee. Also, most special interest groups have membership fees.

The following benefits of individual members are not extended to individual employees of the organizational member:

  • Listing in the Individual Member directory (except for the single contact person)
  • Eligibility to run for elected positions of national officers or board members
  • Eligibility for individual listing in the Indexer Locator
  • Discounted rate for individual advertising in Key Words
