I am a recently trained book indexer and freelance academic editor, experienced at delivering complex projects with care and precision, on deadline and with clear communication. Currently scheduling indexing projects which will use my academic background, wide interests, and STEM knowledge. I have subject background in agriculture, animal science, biochemistry, chemistry, Chinese studies, data science, education, geography, library and Information studies, management science, molecular biology, organismal biology, physics, political science, psychology, religious studies, Russian, and Soviet studies.

I hold a BA in Molecular Biophysics & Biochemistry from Yale University and an MLIS in Library and Information Science from Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey. I am also a certified instructor for computing in research through the Carpentries organizations for training researchers and librarians in today’s scientific computing skills and data techniques for scholarship, and I have a Data Science Professional certificate from IBM. I have trained in back-of-book indexing after a few years as an academic editor and before that, over two decades in academic librarianship and instructional technology.

I enjoy working with English language learners who need support in navigating English language scholarly publishing, both for journal articles and for books. My primary language is English, and I have reading knowledge of French, Russian, some Mandarin Chinese, and some Romanian. I’m comfortable working on projects in English which also include terminology or passages in any of the above languages.
